A sequence is a list of number that are in order

Exercise 1: Look at the sequences below and circle the first, third and eighth term.

a) 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22

b) 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23

c) 1, -1, 1, -1, 1, -1, 1, -1, 1, -1, 1, -1

Exercise 2: Write five terms of the sequences given by the following rules:

a) n + 1

b) n – 3

c) 4 n

d) -2 n

e) n³

f) n²

g) 4 n + 1

h) 3 n – 2

Exercise 3: Write five terms of the following progressions

a) The first term is 2 then add 3 for the following four terms.

b) The first term is -10 then add 2 for the following four terms.

c) The first term is 2 then multiply by 5 for the following four terms.

d) The first term is -4 then multiply by -2 for the following four terms.
